Plinth Project
Since 2023 we have commissioned four pieces through the Plinth Project. Our first one was “Adopt a Hydrant” by Connor MacKinnon which was installed in Kirby’s Garden in Pouch Cove. That was followed by “Sky Tower” in 2024. In 2025, PCPAC celebrated a key milestone with the re-installation of “Adopt a Hydrant” in Portugal Cove St. Philip’s. This marked our first rotation initiative of The Plinth Project. Then in October 2026 we added a third town, Logy Bay–Middle Cove–Outer Cove with the installation of Camille Jodoin-Eng’s “All Doors Lead Here” which followed the transfer of “Sky Tower” to Portugal Cove St. Philip’s and the installation of Susan Valyi’s “March Herring” in Kirby’s Garden in Pouch Cove.
We are grateful for the funding supplied by The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation), ArtsNL, and support from the Towns of Pouch Cove, Portugal Cove-St. Philips and Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove.
The concept behind the Plinth Project is to replace artwork every twelve months, providing a platform for diverse artistic expressions. The PAPAC remains committed to enhancing the cultural environment of Pouch Cove, connecting residents, and inviting visitors to the area through our existing and future public art projects.
