In October 2025 the Pouch Cove Public Art Committee invited professional artists to submit an Expression of Interest for one or two temporary, outdoor three-dimensional public artworks to be installed as part of the Plinth Project.
We subsequently shortlisted five artists, Gleb Dusavitskiy, Michael Rofka, Camille Jodoin-Eng, Susan Valyi, and Melissa Francis. They then submitted sculpture models and video presentations which were shown on our Facebook site and at an open house on February 28, 2026. The public were invited to comment.
The committee ultimately selected Camille Jodoin-Eng and Susan Valyi to supply our new sculptures for 2026 to be installed in August and September. Susan’s sculpture will replace the “Sky Tower” in Pouch Cove, Camille’s sculpture will be installed in our new partner community, Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove, and the “Sky Tower” is moving to Portugal Cove-St. Philips.
